Chicken Curry | Kerala Kozhi curry

Ingredients:

Chicken1KG.

Onion – 4 medium (thinly sliced)

Green chilly – 3 (Slit open) 

Ginger – 1 big piece (Crushed) 

Garlic – 8 big cloves (Crushed) 

Tomato – 2 big 

Turmeric powder – ½ tbsp 

Coriander powder – 2 tbsp 

Red chilly powder – 1½ tbsp 

Garam masala – 1 tbsp 

Pepper powder – ½ tbsp 

Curry leaves 

Salt 

Cooking Oil

* Marinade Chicken with Salt , Crushed pepper , Lemon Juice , Garam masala & little turmeric powder ( Leave it 5-10mints ) 

** Heat oil in a pan. Add marinated chicken in to the oil and cook it untill you get a slightly golden colour ,then move it in to a bowl.

 *** we are using the same oil for frying the thinly sliced onion, green chily, crushed garlic and ginger and curry leaves. Once the onion starts to turn golden colour, reduce the flame and add turmeric powder, coriander powder , red chilly powder and garam masala powder in to it . When the raw smell of masala is gone, add pureed tomato and stir it well, please don’t add water at this time.

 **** Add your 80% cooked chicken into the mixture and stir again in low flame. Then add some water and Cover with a lid , cook it untill they are done, on low flame. You can add a little bit of pepper and garam masala at this point.
